Experts in the interior design industry recommend that interior environments be updated or remodeled every eight to ten years. In the past, a remodeling project called for changing out old flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures for more current styles. The process was simple. However, today technology presents a whole new meaning to making a home “current”. Here are some of the latest ways Kerrie Kelly Design Lab is updating interiors for today.
Hands-Free Faucets: Designed with universal design in mind as well as today’s focus on hygiene and food prep, this commercial-inspired product has finally found its way into the home. In both kitchen and bath applications, Brizo offers a variety of hands-free options.
Showers: Kohler has done it again with their lines of Digital Thermostatic Valves (DTV), electronic control systems that allow users to customize and save their steam and/or shower temperature settings. The system can save up to six different pre-programmed settings and can be operated by the push of one button. Other options include bringing in stress release via chromatherapy or light therapy.
Appliances: The versatility that GE Monogram’s fully integrated refrigerators incorporate include three-different temperature zones making it customizable for whatever you are storing. The interior wine rack and other shelves are all moveable so you can adjust them to your individual needs, while the convertible lower drawer provides precise and customizable climate control with three independent temperature-management zones that can be used to store fresh food, frozen foods, wine or beverages. The LED system gradually brightens and dims when door or drawer is opened and closed, providing clean white illumination that’s both attractive and energy-efficient. Side and top lighting in the upper compartment enhances visibility.
Window Coverings: Create the perfect, personalized scene from morning light to movie night with the Platinum App from Hunter Douglas. The App works with interface componentry from Hunter Douglas and your Apple mobile device to allow you to control all PowerRise® 2.1 and PowerGlide® 2.1 motorized products over your wireless network.
